I worked with the NUM during the 1984/85 miners strikes. In the aftermath of the strike I represented miners in the Yorkshire area in unfair dismissal claims. I also helped set up the Personal Injury Claim service for members of the Nottingham NUM.
In 1988 I joined O.H. Parsons & Partners for the first time. At first I worked mainly for UCATT members at Sellafield, Cumbria.
I also pursued accident claims for members building the Channel Tunnel in Kent. I did personal injury claims and employment work for members of the old NUPE (now UNISON) in London.
